Here's what's going on this week:
Math - We have started our unit on decimals. Yesterday we covered place value. Throughout the week we will cover comparing and ordering decimals, rounding decimals and adding and subtracting decimals. As usual, there will be a quiz on Friday.
Reading - We are continuing to read Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry. The children seem to be enjoying the book and we have had many interesting conversations as we analyze both the craft of writing as well the content.
Writing - We are heavy into our suspense stories. I am reviewing and meeting with students to discuss their work.
Social Studies - There is a TEST on Jamestown this THURSDAY. Today and tomorrow we are completing a study guide that the children can use to prepare for the test tomorrow night. This eliminates the need to bring home their notes and textbook.
Science - We are continuing our study of watersheds. Tomorrow and Thursday we will be looking at how different changes in our environment have affected point source pollution and non-point source pollution.
REMINDER - HEADLANDS REGISTRATION FORMS ARE DUE THIS FRIDAY. IF YOU DO NOT HAND IN THE FORMS, YOUR CHILD WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ATTEND THE TRIP.
Have a great week.
Thanks,
Debby
