Blog 5/7/12
Hello Parents,
It's been so long since I've written a blog entry, I forgot I even had one! Sorry about that.
As I mentioned on Friday, it was pure pleasure spending time with your children at the Headlands last week. We had so many fun and exciting hikes and, I can confidently say that everyone seemed to have a terrific time.
This week will are continuing to learn about life in the thirteen colonies. From trades and plantations to indentured servants and taxes, we are going to explore what it was like to live in that time. Eventually, I would like to set up the classroom as though we are living in a colony. I'm planning that for next week.
Or Women in History projects are moving along. It takes a long time for me to review the rough drafts, so they are going home with students in batches each day. By Friday, I will have given everyone my suggested edits and they will have a week to complete their final draft.
We are continuing Tom Sawyer together as well.
Homework this week is as follows:
Monday - Write 10 questions you have about colonial times.
Either edit your WIH report or read for 30 mins and write a response
Tuesday - Either edit your WIH report or read for 30 mins and write a response
Write a journal entry as though you were a child during colonial times
Wednesday - Either edit your WIH report or read for 30 mins and write a response
S.S. homework to come
Thursday - Either edit your WIH report or read for 30 mins and write a response
-- S.S. homework to come
Have a terrific week.
